Roland Cayouette – 2017

2017
Obituary for Roland Cayouette
We regret to announce the death of Roland Cayouette on October 11, 2017 at North Centennial Manor at the age of 80 years. Roland had two great passions: hockey and wood. When he was younger, he was an avid hockey player and played with many teams here in Kapuskasing. He always loved working with all forms of wood: cutting firewood, working his sawmill, as well as building furniture. This passion led him to opening his business, Cayouette Cabinets, in 1969. Roland was also a teacher at École secondaire Cité des Jeunes for many years. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his family whom he adored, as well as gardening.
He will be greatly missed by two sons: Luc spouse of Joyce Burrough of Angus and Yves husband of Lynn of Moonbeam; two daughters: Anne Cayouette wife of Michel Ouellette of Rockland and Carole Levac wife of Daniel of Ottawa; nine grandchildren: Paul, Joëlle, Lou-Anne, Tanya, Mélanie, Vanessa, Yanick, Ashley and Steffany; four great-grandchildren: Noah, Mikaël, Isabelle and Charlotte; his step-father, Alphée Veilleux of Kapuskasing; as well as one half-brother, Denis Veilleux husband of Thérèse of Ottawa; and one half-sister: Lucie Labelle wife of René of Kapuskasing. He was predeceased by his wife, Marguerite Rose; his parents: Odilon Cayouette and Oriande Veilleux; and two brothers: Raymond and Jean-Marcel Cayouette.
Roland will be resting at the Guenette Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 16th at 10:30 a.m. at Nativité-of-Marie church in Moonbeam with Father Fernand Villeneuve officiating. Interment will follow at the Moonbeam Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the North Centennial Manor would be greatly appreciated. ©
