Obituary of Ian Campbell
March 30th, 1948 – October 8th, 2017
It is with profound grief to announce Ian’s passing at Chapman House after a prolonged and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and soulmate of Nancy Campbell (nee Ofrenchuk). Dear son of the late Dr. Clifford and Norah Campbell and cherished brother of Sandra Campbell, William Campbell (Barbara) Jack Campbell (Cathy) and adored uncle of many nephews and nieces. After graduating from Queen’s, Ian entered the financial field and is dearly remembered by his many clients as their Professional Financial Consultant and friend. Ian is remembered as a friend to many whom he delighted to entertain with stories conveyed with great wit and humour. Known as an expert equestrian with many achievements, Ian was also a naturalist who delighted in observing and nurturing wildlife. A great lover of animals, Ian adopted equine, feline and canine family members and was especially loving of his black Labrador, Beautiful Joe Cool.
In accordance with Ian’s wishes cremation is complete. A Celebration of Ian’s life will take place Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at the Historic Leith Church, 419134 Tom Thomson Lane, Leith. Reverend Dr. Gordon Postill, Boston, a dear friend of Ian and Nancy will officiate. Interment to occur at the Historic Leith Cemetery followed by a Celebration at the Inn on the Bay, Best Western, Owen Sound from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Special thanks to Dr. Alison Barfoot and the staff of Chapman House for their exemplary care. Expressions of remembrance of Ian may be made to the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter or Chapman House and may be made through the BRIAN E.
