Jane “Chrissie”, age 89, of Heatherton passed
away on October 9, 2017 in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born in Pomquet River, she was the
daughter of the late John C. and Mary Bell
Chisholm.
Chrissie worked at the Goshen
Restaurant and Lobster Treat Restaurant for many years. She loved to
socialize and especially enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Chrissie was
an awesome cook who never depended on a
recipe.
She is surrvived by her children
Mary Hulbert, Afton, Eileen (Charles) Gavel, Ashdale; Clem (Rita)
Chisholm, Lower Sackville; Gerald “Gerry” (Miria),
Dartmouth; Anthony, Dartmouth; brother Duncan, (Kathleen), St.
Andrews; 13 grandchildren, 14 great
grandchildren.
Predeceased by husband William F.,
brother Donald J.; sisters, Margaret, Isabel, Betty, Anna, Theresa,
Helen, and Elizabeth in infancy.
There will be no visitation by
request. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday in
Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton, Reverend Andrew Gillies
presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to
the Victorian Order of Nurses or Antigonish and Area Homemakers.
