METSKE, Simon … Passed away at Juravinski Hospital on Monday,
October 9, 2017 at the age of 59. Simon went home to be with his Lord
after a challenging life on this earth. He now has no more pain, his
soul is free and he is safe in the arms of Jesus, never more to
suffer. He is reunited with his parents, the late Martin (March 13,
2001) and Antje “Anne” Metske (February 26, 2008), and his
sister Maria Barendregt-Spriel of Ingersoll. Much loved brother of
Martin Metske Jr (Roseanne) of Lucknow, and Henry Metske (Shirley) of
Kirkwall. Special uncle to Sharon Spriel of Ingersoll, Rachel Spriel
of BC., Joe Spriel of Woodstock, Kathy Spriel-Hunt (Steve) of Corunna,
Nadine Metske of Cambridge, William Metske of Kirkwall, and Mike
Metske (Tina), Jeff Metske (Heather), Tim Metske (Amanda), and Lisa
Metske (Scott) all of Lucknow. Lovingly remembered by many nieces,
nephews, and extended family in the Netherlands and Australia. Fondly
remembered by Ralph and Audrey Schuurman, who were always involved
with his care. Also remembered by Patrick, Tom and Christopher in his
group home, and the loving staff of Rygiel Homes. Predeceased by his
paternal grandparents, Wilhelmus and Maatje Metske, and his maternal
grandparents Simon and Maria Barendregt of the Netherland. Friends
will be received at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street N.,
Cambridge, from 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, with a
funeral service to be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October
12, 2017 at 1p.m. Interment to follow at Kirkwall Presbyterian
Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy or remembrance, donations may be
made to Rygiel Homes Hamilton.
