It is with
heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Alliston of Saint John,
cherished wife of Jimmy “Grizzly” Best announces her
passing, which occurred on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the Saint John
Regional Hospital. Born on June 1, 1951 in Saint John, she
was the daughter of the late Percy Francis Alliston Sr. and Mary
Margaret (Doucette) Alliston.
Margaret took
great comfort in her Catholic faith and always had a special place in
her heart for all animals. She enjoyed singing mostly
country music, watching westerns, writing poetry and reading Stephen
King novels.
In addition
to her husband, Jimmy, Margaret will also be lovingly remembered by
her sister, Beth Alliston O’Neill; brother, Percy Alliston
Jr.; sister-in-law, Ann Alliston; four sons, Jason
“Thor” Miller, Chad Stevens, Lee Teare and Graham
Teare; grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and numerous
cousins. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by
her aunts, Kathleen Harrison, Shirley Lowe, Rose Masten and Lena
Sheehan and uncles, Eddy, Billy and Beverley
Doucette.
Resting at
Brenan’s funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John with visiting on Monday, October 9, 2017 and
Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. The funeral
liturgy will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday,
October 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in
St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or the Saint John SPCA Animal
Rescue.
