On October 1, 2017, Mrs. Olga Melnyk of St. Paul, formerly of Elk Point, passed away at the age of 96 years. She is survived by her loving children, Ruth Trach of Edmonton, Randy (Maureen) Demyd of Winnipeg, MB, David (Jennifer) Melnyk of Calgary & Linda (Gary) Yarmuch of Edmonton; step-children, Ed (Marguerite) & Shirley (Bill) Melnyk both of Edmonton, Ron (Marian) Melnyk of Flatbush & Roy (Micki) Melnyk of St. Albert; 25 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Wysocki of Sherwood Park; numerous nieces & nephews. Olga was predeceased by her first husband, William Demyd; second husband, Mike Melnyk; son, Michael; granddaughter, Kimberley; parents, Steve & Annie Ontaruk; 3 sisters, Eva, Stephie & Catherine; brother, Fred; 2 siblings in infancy. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, October 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Divine Liturgy & Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 7 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Reverend Father Mark Sych will be the celebrant, with interment in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Northern Valley. If desired, donations may be made to Alzheimers Society or Extendicare Resident Council c/o 5626 – 51 Street, St. Paul, AB T0A 3A1.
