Audrey Grace Day
Audrey Grace Day, on September 1, 2017 at Kenneth E. Spencer
Home, went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness. Audrey
was 92. She was the daughter of the late Audber and Helen (Newcomb)
Jonah. She was born in Dawson Settlement, NB on November 14,
1924.
After leaving school, she moved to Saint John to find work.
Audrey met her future husband there and was married on July
6th, 1946.
She attended the Riverview Baptist Church and was a member of
the ABW, the Catherine McGoram WMS, the Neighbor Bible Study Group and
the Christian Womens Club.
Audrey is survived by her daughter, Donna Day of Riverview;
her son, Ronald (Susan) Day of Rothesay. She has two grandchildren,
Laurie Ann (Bradley) Arseneau of Toronto, ON and David (Sarah) Day of
Riverview. She is also survived by four great grandchildren, Brooklyn
and Xander Arseneau of Toronto, ON and Connor and Cameron Day of
Riverview.
Audrey is survived by her sisters, Dora Cornford of Saint
John and Lois Irving of Riverview; also, her brother, Herman (Betty)
Jonah of Dawson Settlement and by several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her
husband, Franklin in 1997; her brother, Blair Jonah and his wife.
Also, her brothers-in-law, George Cornford and William Irving and her
nephews, Derek Cornford and Michael Irving.
On behalf of our family, we would like to say thank you to
the staff on Deerwood for their kindness towards Mum.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm. A Service to
celebrate and honour Audrey’s life will be held at Fergusons
Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 11:00 am with
Pastor Jonathan Gorham officiating. Reception in the Funeral Home
Reception Centre following the service. The place of interment will be
at the Jonah Cemetery, Dawson Settlement.
