RICHARDS, Alan Eugene (1958 – 2017) – suddenly at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 in his 59th year. Beloved son of Shirley Jane and the late Elmo Richards of Simcoe. Cherished father of Nicole Johnson. Loving brother of Bryan Richards (Kimeva) of Sundale, Saskatchewan, and cherished uncle of their children Kahla, Brock (fiancée Ashley) & Tatiana. Predeceased by his aunt Marsha Campbell (late Chuck), Alan will be sadly missed by his uncle Denny Richards (Carolyn) of Boston. Alan will be lovingly remembered by Shirley’s sisters Dorene Awde (late Dr. Chuck), their children Chris, Rob (Lori) & Rome; and the late Dorothy Butler (late Tom), their children, the late Joanne, Wayne (Debi) & Rory (Pam). A 40 year veteran of the Hospitality Industry, Alan had countless friends, acquaintances, customers, and staff from coast to coast that experienced his unique openness and welcoming nature. We invite friends to celebrate and share their memories of Alan with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, August 24th, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow visitation in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Cruickshank officiating. Private interment of ashes at a later date. Those wishing to donate in memory of Alan are asked to consider the Norfolk General Hospital Foundation.
