On Tuesday, August 22, 2017, Charles Murray Briggs of Gordonsville
went home to be with his Lord. Born May 23, 1950 in Woodstock, he was
the son of Mary (Murray) Briggs and the late Gordon Briggs.
He loved to spend time with his family and his friends. He enjoyed
being outdoors on his four wheeler or hunting in the woods. He loved
sports whether it be cheering on the Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs or the
Carleton North Stars. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist
church where he served faithfully.
Charles will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Betty
(Harvey) Briggs, his 3 sons: Charles Briggs (Heidi), their sons, Dean
and Ivan; Robert Briggs (Timna), their children, Evan, Maisie and
Lana; Jonathan Briggs and his daughter Ainsley. His mother, Mary
Briggs; his sister, Marlene Hathaway (Dale), their children, Rebecca
Keezer (Greg) and Ethan Hathaway (Hannah MacDougall) as well as
several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and extended
family.
Visitation will be held from L.R. Giberson Funeral Directors, 207
Burnham Rd. Florenceville-Bristol on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 4-8
pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at
2:00 pm from the L.R. Giberson Funeral Chapel. Pastor Peter Culberson
will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
Donations made to Shiktehawk Bible Camp or the Mount Pleasant Cemetery
