Irma L. Trites
1925-2017
Irma L. Trites, 91, of Moncton, with her loving
family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on
Friday, August 18, 2017.
Born in Grangeville, she was the daughter of the late
John “Rupert” and Beulah (Colpitts)
Jones.
Irma was a retired bookkeeper and spent the last ten
years of her career at Co-Op Atlantic. She attended Grangeville
Baptist Church, was a Life Member of Moncton Legion Branch # 6 and
received the Moncton Legion Branch # 6 Ladies Auxiliary Meritorious
Award. A very fine cook, her hobbies included quilting, playing darts,
bowling, knitting, sewing and spending time with her
family.
Irma will be sadly missed by her daughters, Tammy
Trites (Charles) and Cindy Hebert (Roger), both of Moncton and Karen
Byrne (the late Tom) of Petitcodiac; sons, Rick Jones (Sherri) of
Ottawa, Danny Trites (Joan) of Grangeville, Stephen Trites of Moncton,
Keith Trites (Joan) of Steeves Mountain, David Trites (Donna) of Saint
John and Tim Trites of Moncton; sixteen grandchildren, 35 great
grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth Jones and many nieces, nephews and
extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
her husband, Reginald A. Trites (2007); sisters, Jean Knowlton (Alvin)
and Elsie Douthwright (Henry); brothers, Frank Jones (Mildred), Earl
Jones (Maude), Norman Jones (Olive), Cliff Jones, Lloyd Jones
(Evelyn), Claude Jones (Edna) and Don
Jones.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate
family.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain
Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00
pm Moncton Legion Branch # 6 Memorial Service (Ladies Auxiliary) at
6:45 pm. A Service to celebrate and honour Irma’s life will
be held at Fergusons Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, August 23, 2017
at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Leger officiating. Reception in the
Funeral Home Reception Centre following the service. Interment will be
in Grangeville Baptist Cemetery.
