Doris Wilken

Doris Wilken (nee Witte), of Hanover, passed away suddenly at Hanover and District Hospital on Friday, August 11, 2017. She was 91.
Born on February 1, 1926 in Bentinck Township, Ontario to the late David and Nellie (nee Murdock) Witte. Doris was employed with Buckeye Pearless in Hanover for many years and married the love of her life Milford. A wonderful marriage that was admired by many as they recently celebrated their 72nd year. She devoted her life to her children and stayed at home on the farm to raise her family. She was a devoted member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church – Brant, and a member of the ELW. She will be missed by her church family.
Survived by devoted husband Milford Wilken of Hanover. Loved mother of Wayne (Nancy) Wilken of R#1 Elmwood, Brad Wilken (Dawn MacKay) of Walkerton, Darlene Gross of Hanover and Joan (Rob) Moorehouse of Cambridge. Grandmother of Jeff (Nicole), Christopher (Kalie), Jenna (Josh), Mark, Brooke (Tim), Cody (Ashlee), Billy and great grandmother of Emma, Mila, Kylie, Lily, Ava, Eli, Layla, Olivia and Nevaeh. Fondly remembered by her brother Orville Witte (Merry Francis) of Hanover and sister Shirley Goldsmith of Durham. Dear sister in law of Bernice Witte of Cambridge. Predeceased by a son in infancy, two brothers Ken Witte, Clarence (Dorothy) Wittie and her brother in law Oliver Goldsmith.
Family and friends are invited to Visitation held at Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover, on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church-Brant on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00 am. Rev. Hannes Aasa officiating. Interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Brant Township.
Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church-Brant would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
