Ronald William St Louis – 1946 – 2017

Obituary of Ronald St. Louis
It is with heartfelt sadness, the family of Ronald William St. Louis announces his passing on the morning of June 5, 2017. Ron slipped away peacefully at his ranch in Swalwell, Alberta with his loving wife at his side, after a brief fight with cancer.
At 71 years of age, Ron took pride in the successful accounting practice he began in Calgary 40 years ago, and was dedicated to continuing the business alongside his son Steve. Ron also thrived on his active involvement in the thoroughbred racehorse community and as a board member of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society Alberta.
His greatest happiness in life was his family. Ron was predeceased by his father, Victor in 1967 and his mother, Kathleen in 1998. Ron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Elaine; daughter, Stephanie (Brett) Fizzell; son, Stephen; daughter, Jacqueline (Rob) Roach; grandson, Alexander Overn; two brothers, Larry (Patricia), Ken (June), as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.
Ron was an avid golfer before moving out to the acreage, regularly participating in tournaments as a member of the Elks Club and Lakeside Greens and still loved getting out to play in his time off. Ron’s tremendous passion for horses was well known by all as he pursued his dreams of racing and breeding thoroughbreds and enjoyed many happy years sharing time on the ranch with his family, friends and his animals.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Ron’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society and Thoroughbred Lasting Careers Society (TLCS) in care of the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society.
