1939-2017
DIXON, Frank Everett- Age 77, Halifax and formerly of Canso.
We regret to announce Frank’s death which occurred
peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, in Parkstone Enhanced Care,
Halifax. He was born on August 14, 1939, in Canso and was a son of the
late Frank E. and Margaret Mable (Reynolds) Dixon of Fox Island. He
lived most of his life in Canso and was a member of Royal Canadian
Legion Branch 46, Canso.
He is survived by his two daughters, Doris (Dixon) Feltmate,
Richmond Hill, Ont; Christine (Dixon) Holmes, Dartmouth; son, Frank
Dixon (Melinda), Dartmouth; he dearly loved his grandchildren, Josh
Feltmate, D’Escousse; Jenna and Connor Holmes, Dartmouth. He
is also survived by sister, Alice Hanlon, Canso; brothers, Shipley
“Babe” Dixon (Sandra), Canso; William
“Bill” Dixon (Cora), Hazel Hill. He was predeceased
by his wife, Doris (Creamer) Dixon; granddaughter, Kaila Feltmate;
brother, Berkley “Bert” Dixon; sister, Hannah
Elizabeth Hart; half-brothers, Emmett Dixon and Colin Hendsbee; many
nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitation by request. Funeral service will
be 11 a.m. Monday from St. Paul’s United Church, Canso with
Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in Fourth Hill
Cemetery. A reception will follow in Royal Canadian Legion Br. 46,
Canso. The family would like to thank the staff of Parkstone Enhanced
Care for taking such good care of our father. You will remain in our
thoughts. We also wish to thank Beatrice Greencorn for her extended
love and support, we will always remember you. Also to Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Homes and Royal Canadian Legion Br. 46, for holding
