Robert Donald Gibson – 2017

After a long life filled with family and friends, Bob passed away on July 19, 2017 surrounded by family at the age of 79 years. Robert Donald Gibson was born June 30, 1938 in Melville, Saskatchewan. When Bob was 16, he left the family farm in McDonald, SK and moved to the Cochrane area. He met the love of his life Renee, in Cochrane and they were married July 22, 1961 and together had 2 daughters. They spent 38 years in Cochrane before moving to Sundre in 1999. Bob enjoyed all sports and loved spending time with family and friends. He always had a joke and smile for everyone. He will be sadly missed and forever remembered. Bob is survived by his loving wife Renee; daughters Teresa (Chub) Hogarth; Debbie (Gerry) Voykin; 4 grandchildren Caitlin and Tristin Hogarth; Taylor and Brittany Voykin; sisters Ruth (Joe), June, Gail (Les), Joan (Reno); brothers Kenny, Leonard, Dale (Helen), Randy (Vivian) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Barbara and siblings Willy, Debbie and Donna. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #223 Sundre. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Sundre Hospital Auxiliary Society.
