Beloved husband for 50 years to Mary Anne MacDonald (nee Preston) Loving father of Jay MacDonald (Tania) of Simcoe. Beloved “Papa” to his grandchildren Carter and Jordyn. Dear brother of Ruth Long (late Dennis) of Hamilton; Mary Jane MacDonald, James MacDonald (Donna), Paul MacDonald and Scott MacDonald all of Simcoe Dear brother in law of Paul Cross and Barb Preston of Simcoe. Predeceased by one sister Pat Cross, and brother-in-laws Bill Preston, Fred Maxwell (Late Norma). Also surviving are several nieces & nephews. Doug will be remembered as a huge supporter of local sports.. Friends are invited to share their memories of Doug with his family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Tuesday, July 11,2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bryan Robertson officiating. Interment of ashes at a later date.
