Grant Allan “Hammer” Simpson
1945-2017
Grant Allan Simpson, 71, of Hillsborough passed away on July
1, 2017 at the Moncton Hospital with his devoted family by his
side.
Grant was born in Edgett’s Landing, NB on July 21st, 1945,
the son of the late Glendon Lloyd “Dick” and Eleanor
(Milton) Simpson.
Grant was a construction Supervisor with Irving Oil for 28
years until his retirement. He enjoyed being outdoors and
hunting. He loved golf and was on the Hillsborough course
whenever he got the chance. He enjoyed woodworking and has made
several things for his family to treasure. Grant had a
little Men’s Club, there were many social gatherings in his garage,
lots of stories and many laughs were shared by all who stopped in. His
family was very important to him, he had a very special place in his
heart for his grandchildren, they were definitely his pride and joy.
He also had a special bond with his cat “Tigger” who he
treated like royalty. Grant would want everyone to remember
a funny story when they think of him and smile. “Only a
smile away.”
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Peggy (Ward)
Simpson; his daughters, Tammy Woodworth (Jeff) of Hillsborough,
Shelley Simpson (MIke) of Moncton; son, David Simpson (Kelly) of
Hillsborough; his 8 cherished grandchildren and 6 great
grandchildren.; sisters, Diane Geldart (Vincent) and Susan
Steeves (John) both of Edgett’s Landing. He will also be
missed by several nieces, nephews and all his extended
family.
