Gordon was born in Victoria on October 5, 1927 to Herbert Austen Brown and Claudia Hall Brown. After attending Oak Bay schools, he spent 4 years in Toronto and Montreal returning home to Victoria in 1950 to the Brown Bros. family firm. Gordon thoroughly enjoyed his work and the people he worked with.
In 2009 Gordon had a stroke, which impaired both his speech and mobility. He remained good natured and happy and died comfortably at home on June 26, 2017. Gordon leaves Elspeth, his wife of 64 years, his children Elizabeth Cooper, Cynthia Cosulich and David Brown, their families and sister Susan Ross.
Rest in peace Gordon.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. Philip Anglican Church, 2928 Eastdowne Road, Victoria, BC, on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Reception to follow at the Victoria Golf Club, 1110 Beach Drive, Victoria BC. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
