JANSEN, Gerardus Cornelius
Gerardus and his wife Coba arrived, in Canada in March, 1953. On board the “Groote Beer” arriving in Halifax from the Netherlands. Making the journey to Brampton by train to begin their new life and raise their family. Gerardus took employment at Calvert and Dale Estates for many wonderful years. For the remainder of his working career he took up employment with the City Of Brampton and retired from the Parks and recreation department as a gardener. Geradus and his wife were founding members of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Brampton. Gerardus passed away peacefully on Friday, June 16 In his 94th year. Predeceased by his loving Coba (2012). Loving Father of Elizabeth (Martin), John ( Janet), and Laury (Dominic). Cherished grandfather of Steven( Victoria), Amanda, Amelia( Daniel), Sarah, Andrew(Marta), Matthew (Diane), Michael(Lisa). Great-Grandfather of Fiona, Ellis, Jacob, Laura, and Danielle.Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home “Brampton Chapel”, 52 Main Street South (Hwy 10), Brampton on Friday, June 23 from7-9 P.m.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 24th at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church,66A Main Street South, Brampton at 10:30 A.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery Brampton.In Lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimers Society or a charity of choice
