JACKSON, Laura Lee Winifred (March 28, 1954 –June 11, 2017)
After a long and courageous fight with pancreatic cancer Laura passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Laura is proudly from Innisfail Alberta where she made her home until attending college in Fort Smith, NWT to attain her degree in Nursing. With care and compassion she began practicing in the NWT followed by Vancouver and Edmonton. In her 41 years of nursing she touched thousands of lives and provided care and comfort to those that needed it the most. Most recently she served at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton where she was well loved by her coworkers and patients. Laura is saddened for the ones she leaves behind including her son Mathew, sisters Ethel and Wanda; brothers Carl, Rick, Barry, and Gary as well as several cousins, nieces, nephews and countless loving friends from both the Royal Alexandra Hospital and the Mormon Church. Join us for the celebration of life to be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 12:00 pm, with viewing at 11:00 am, at her church, the Coronation Chapel, 10980 142 Street Edmonton. All faiths welcome. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the Edmonton food bank in her honor.
