It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Perry of Calgary, AB, loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the age of 81.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by family who loved her very much including her brother, John (Joyce) Burdess of Kelowna and her sister Margaret “Peggy” (George) Baker of Edmonton; her oldest son, David (Carol) Shaw of Lethbridge, her youngest son, Gord Shaw and Stacy Schweizer of Calgary, her daughter Janice (Brian) Young of Calgary; four grandchildren, the oldest being Sandra Shaw with whom she shared a special bond since Sandra was born, Stacey and Brian Murchison with their children Lily and Luke who loved and cherished their great-grandma, Tyler Shaw and Kaitlin Wilke, and her youngest grandchild Riley Shaw and Kristina Piattelli which Mary was very much looking forward to attending their wedding this September; along with lots of extended family who loved her and will miss her dearly.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 28 years, Arthur Leighton Perry and her parents, Pearl and George Burdess.
Please join the family for a Celebration of Betty’s Life at St. Clements Anglican Church in Balzac, AB on Friday, June 23, 2017 at 1:00 pm with reception to follow across the street at the Balzac Community Center. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mary’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 100, 119 – 14 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 1Z6.
