Phyllis A. Viel
1927-2017
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother,
Phyllis Audrey Viel. Born in 1927 in Greenfield, NB she was the
daughter of the late John and Carmen (White) Shannon.
Phyllis was the eldest of eight children and the mother of 12. She
knew hard work from an early age working on the family farm and caring
for her younger siblings as well as raising her large family.
Phyllis loved music and was a well known performer, both as a singer
and guitarist in her younger years. She was very well read on many
levels and enjoyed discussing many topics.
Her family was very important to her and she loved to have visitors
with whom she was known to carry on wise and wide ranging
conversations. Phyllis had an amazing sense of humor.
Our Mother could be known as “A Woman of Means” not for
her wealth of money but for her wealth in the multitude of Friends she
had both young and old. She will be missed!
She was predeceased by her husband the late Lionel Viel, Sisters Vera
Shannon and pearl Patterson, sister in law Jeanette Shannon, brothers
in law Ron and Stewart Patterson, Delbert Ellis and one great grandson
