It is
with great sadness that the family of the late Elaine Mildred Coombs
announce her passing on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her residence in
Corner Brook at the age of 71 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and
loving memories her very loving partner Lawrence Coombs and his
family; children: Ellen (Derek), Isaac (Kim) and Daisy (Gary);
grandchildren: Wayne, Kevin, Nathan, Nicole, Meagan, Zach, Maria, Greg
and Brennan; great-grandchildren: Zachary, Chezney, Brianna, Ryker and
Jenson; step-mother Annie Gillam; sister and brothers: Edna (Noel),
Blanche (Kevin), Jimmy (Sheila), Lloyd (Ada), Gerald (Eileen), Carol,
George (Leann), Muriel (Randy), Sean (Sharon), Bonnie (Tony), Nelson
(Caitlin), Clyde (Joann) and Lisa (Lee); special niece Cindy; as well
as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She
was predeceased by her husband Isaac Coombs, daughter Alice Giles,
granddaughter Elizabeth Coombs-West, parents James and Alice Gillam.
Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St.
Mark’s Avenue on Sunday from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9
p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 15 at 2:00 p.m.
from The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Main Street with The
Very Rev. Baxter Park and Father Lynn Braye officiating. Interment to
follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy flowers
graciously accepted or donations may be made to the Cancer Clinic,
Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation. The family guest book
