Ralph Douglas Cowie
Ralph D. Cowie, 86, of Dieppe, passed away peacefully at The
Moncton Hospital on Monday, May 15, 2017. Born in Moncton, he was the
son of the late Robert “Burt” and Ruby (Madden)
Cowie.
Ralph was retired from the Department of Justice, Province of
NB. An avid reader of war history and an expert marksman,
his hobbies included motorcycles, airplanes, cars and anything with an
engine. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and watching the Discovery
Channel. Ralph was a member of the Moncton Motorcycle
Touring Club and enjoyed walking the trails in Shediac and going to
the Pointe-du-Chene wharf.
Ralph will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years,
Sandra (Steeves) Cowie; daughter, Beth Cowie of New Hampshire;
brother, Bruce Cowie (Sylvia) of Amherst, NS; mother-in-law, Luetta
Steeves of Moncton; sister-in-law, Zeny Cowie of BC; brothers-in-law,
Terry Steeves (Beverly) and Dan Steeves (Debbie), as well as many
caring nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was
predeceased by his brother, Jack Cowie.
A gathering to share memories and celebrate Ralph’s
life will be held at Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road,
Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, May 19, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00
pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Shriners Hospital for
Children Travel Fund or a memorial of the donor’s choice
would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences
