Unexpectedly in hospital on Friday, May 5, 2017, Ron Stuart in his 82nd year. Loving husband of Clara (MacKenzie) for 57 years. Proud father of Bruce (Anita), David (Sam) and John (Lindsay).Cherished Boppa and Grandpa to Kaitlin, Russell, Julian and Jacob. Son of the late Kenneth Stuart and Ethel Reaney. Ron had a distinguished career in the federal government. He was among the early architects of the Canada Pension Plan, and later was appointed, by Order in Council, to serve as the first Commissioner of the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal. His dedication to public service was an inspiration. Ron’s kindheartedness and generous wit touched many people, and leaves a truly beautiful legacy. Family and friends are invited to Celebrate Ron’s Life at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St. (between Scrivens Dr. and Metcalfe Corner) on Thursday May 11 from 2- 5 pm. Inurnment Metcalfe Union Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the charity of your choice.
