Gladys Frances Pauline Mahar (Dines)
1927-2016
Gladys went to be with her Lord and Saviour where she is with
her husband Jack, her son John, her two miscarried babies and her
parents William and Katherine (Henderson) Dines. Left to
remember her with love are her daughter-in-law Marie Mahar, daughter
Karen (Ron) Wilson, grandchildren Gerry Mahar, Janet Mahar, Wil Mahar,
Tim (McKenzi) Wilson, Dan (Nicole) Wilson and siblings Vera
Richardson, Prescott (Anne) Dines, Ethel Finnagan, Margaret Johnston,
Joyce (Calvin) Thompson, Mary Hunnewell, Sydney Dines, Charlie
(Arvilla) Dines, Gloria (Don) Boyce and sister-in-law Margaret
Dines. Thank you to the staff of Pine Grove Nursing Home for
their loving care over the past two years.
Predeceased by her sister Bernice Durelle, her brother
Sherman Dines, sisters-in-law Hildred Dines and Vivian Dines,
brothers-in-law Everett Richardson, Aube Durelle, Ted Finnagan, Carl
Johnston and Charlie Hunnewell.
Gladys was a homemaker until her early forties, at which time
she joined the work force to become a bookkeeper for Topmar Building
Supplies, which she co-owned, until she retired. She was a
faithful member of Lincoln Baptist Church for 60 years where she
served as Sunday School teacher, teller and Pioneer Girls
leader. Although not much of a singer, she loved music and
supported her children in their musical endeavours.
She was the best Mom, mother-in-law, sister and grandmother a
person could have. We know it was because she listened to
God daily. She lived her life at home and outside the same
way; she always tried to do what God wanted and hardly ever spoke an
angry word. She was one of the kindest people we ever
knew. We will always miss her until we see her in
heaven.
Interment will occur May 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Lower
Lincoln Cemetery. Immediately following, there will be a
celebration of her life at Lincoln Baptist Church, 2275 Rte 102,
Lincoln, where those gathered will have an opportunity to share short
(3-5 minute) memories of Gladys. Due to allergies, please
refrain from wearing fragrances of any kind.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lincoln
Baptist Church, The Gideons, Green Hill Lake Camp Inc., or Pine Grove
Foundation.
