GREENWOOD – Joan Fewson Bowser, 88, Greenwood, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 17, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late John “Jack” and Martha (Crook) Leath. Joan was the first woman to work in the Michelin Tire, Granton Plant. She was a member of St. George’s Anglican Church and a member of the 55 Plus Club, New Glasgow. Joan enjoyed painting with the “Ward One Group” and crafting with her 55 Plus Club friends. She greatly anticipated “cottage season” each year and enjoyed spending many months admiring the view from her cottage deck. Joan was “young at heart” and enjoyed speeding around in her daughters Mazda. She was a lady who possessed a quit whit and unwavering love for her family.
Surviving are daughter, Martha (Locke) Woolley, Telford; son, Calvin, Greenwood; six grandchildren and great grandchildren; niece, Jackie (Jim) Brett.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, James Allister “Jimmie” Bowser; sister, Jean MacKay; son-in-law, Locke Woolley; brother-in-law, Carl MacKay.
In honour of Joan’s wishes the family will celebrate her life privately.
If wished, an act of kindness preformed in Joan’s memory would be a fitting tribute.
