CALDWELL, Thomas Smith “Tom”, age 90, of Halifax, left us on April 18, 2017, after a life well lived. Born in Motherwell, Scotland, he immigrated to Hamilton, ON at age 3. As a young apprentice with Canadian Westinghouse in Hamilton, ON, Tom moved his family to Moncton, NB, Sept Iles, QC, back to Moncton, when, after a 33 year career, he then partnered with John W. Lindsay and Carlise Norwood in Halifax, NS, owning and managing Nova Scotia Armature Works, Purdy Brothers Shipbuilding and many other ventures.
