Dr. Margery U. Morris – Oakley 1929 – 2017 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Margery on April 12th at the age of 87. Born in Dartmouth, Marmy as she was know to many, was the daughter of Claude Hills Morris – former mayor of Dartmouth and Norma Gentles Morris. Marmy graduated from Dalhousie Medical School in 1954 and practised medicine in Dartmouth until her retirement in 2000. She served as the first woman Medical Officer for Dartmouth from 1955 until 1970. She was the Medical Advisor for the first Canadian Summer Games in 1969.
