Lillian Irene Skeir 25 juillet 1925 – 8 avril 2017

SKEIR (Parsons), Lillian I. – Age 91, of Halifax. A resident of The Ivy Meadows Continuing Care Centre, passed away peacefully April 8, 2017, surrounded by her family. Born in Lucasville, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Elizabeth (Smith) Parsons. Lillian was a member of the Cornwallis Street Baptist Church and a member of The Friendly Girls Club and The Lucky Stripes Bowling League. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and being surrounded by family and friends. Lillian worked as a seamstress in her earlier years, and worked various jobs after that but her greatest pleasure was raising her family.
Lillian is survived by her sons, Stephen (Leisa), Lower Sackville and Roger, Brampton; sisters, Karen Parsons, Lower Sackville and Corrine Langford, Winnipeg; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, George A. Skeir; brothers, Ivan, Keith, Ralph, Leonard, Roger and Edward; sisters, Enid Parsons and Viola Williams.
A special thanks to the staff at Ivy Meadows for the loving care they provided during her stay. Visitation will be held Wednesday April 12th from 2 – 4pm & 6 – 8pm at Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Funeral service will be held at 11am Thursday April 13th at The Cornwallis Street Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Rhonda Britton officiating. Private family interment at a later date. Family Flowers Only. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia or to Cornwallis Street Baptist Church.
