Passed peacefully away after a brief illness at the Carbonear General Hospital on Friday, March 31, 2017, Maxwell L. Blake of New Chelsea, age 86 years. Predeceased by wife: Nita; parents: William and Emma; brothers: Pearce, Carson, Wallace, Albert, and Austin; sisters: Millie, Rose, Blanche, and Ivy. Leaving to mourn, daughter: Sylvia (Jerry) Belbin, Clarenville; two grandsons: Brian and Brett (Erin); three great-grandchildren: Ava, Hannah, and Bree; companion: Helen Lessner, Winterton; sister-in-law: Shirley Eddy, Bishop’s Falls; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Noel’s Funeral Home, Water Street, Carbonear on Sunday, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday, 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear. Interment in Wesley United Cemetery, New Chelsea.
