Einar Orpen – 2017

Einar George Orpen, 91, passed away in his sleep at the Regina Pasqua Hospital on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 in Regina, SK.
He was born July 15, 1925 to Christ and Ragna Orpen at their farm in rural Saskatchewan near Govan.
Einar is survived by his wife Mavis of 65 years; sons Darrel (Rose-Marie) and Terry (Maureen MacDonald) and loving grandchildren Trista and Lacey Orpen.
Einar was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. His recent active life largely revolved around his bridge community with almost daily involvement with various bridge games and the related social interaction.
Einar loved sports with a lifelong involvement in baseball (member of the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame), hockey and especially curling.
Einar was always there to help friends with anything they needed him for. His willingness to freely give of himself to his friends was recognized and regularly commented on.
The family wishes to extend a thank you to the Regina Pasqua Hospital for their loving care and support and a special thank you to Dr. Kielly.
