Bassitta, Peter Hans Heinz
Peter Bassitta passed away peacefully in his home with his entire family by his side on Friday March 24th, 2017, just 5 days before his 89th birthday.
He will always be remembered by the love of his life, Leonore, who were together for 53 years, his 3 girls and their families, |Barbara and Mike Minnick and daughters,|Carolyn and Natalie, Susanne and Del Wilmot and their children, Jenna and Graham, and Nicola and Scott Osborne and their children, Peter and Erin, and nephew Juergen Trotz.
He was a WW II vet and immigrated to Canada in 1956 and began his new life in Toronto. He soon married Leonore in 1965 and together had 3 girls in the years following. They purchased their dream farm in Proton Station in 1975 and over the years made it the centre of all of the family, and where he remained until his final days. He always said he was the richest man on earth, all he needed was his family by his side, good food, good beer and a wonderful home to enjoy them all in.
The family would like to thank Dr. Winfield for his kindness and caring over the years, the Waterloo Wellington CCAC and all the wonderful nurses, |PSW’s and all the kind caring people that helped so much when he needed it the most. Surrounded by the love of his family, he was able to make his final journey with comfort and dignity.
