Obituary for Joseph Roger Paul Morissette
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roger Morissette at the age of 82 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean, of 57 years and his children, Bryan, Gregg, Nicole (Murray), Darren (Diana) and four grandchildren, Janine, Kelsey, Mia and Paris. He was predeceased by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters and he is survived by three sisters, Denise (Carl), Cecile and Rachel. Roger spent many years in the Oil and Gas Industry, beginning with Westburne Petroleum and Minerals Ltd and retired from Enerplus in 1998. Since retiring Roger and Jean spent most of their time together on many trips, cruising the world in South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Caribbean as well as many beach vacations in Mexico and the Dominican Republic. He enjoyed many sports including hockey, squash and curling. He was a great skater, spending many hours coaching and refereeing hockey in the Brentwood area. Roger also volunteered many years with the Help The Needy Program at St Luke’s Church. He always wore a smile and will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive NW) on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, Inn from the Cold, YMCA Heritage Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
