It is with a broken heart that Janet announces the loss of her best friend, companion and love of her life, Darrell. He had a strong determination and will to live after suffering a stroke and fought valiantly in hospital for five months. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered also by his sons, Cameron and Brent; and his faithful canine companion, Baylon. Darrell is survived by his brother, Wayne (Darlene); his sister, Margaret Walker; his step brothers, Chip (Bonnie) Crocker and Allan (Ruth) Crocker; his sister-in-law, Dianne Hanson; his brothers-in-law, Rick (Annette) Keating, Bill (Frances) Christie, and Mike Hanson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Joan; stepmother, Edith (Crocker); his in-laws, Chuck and Verna Keating; his sister-in-law, Joan (Keating) Christie; and brother-in-law, Rick Walker. Darrell started his career with the RCMP and then worked as a conductor with the CPR for thirty-five years. He was a perfectionist who took great pride in his home, yard and vehicles. He had a flair for decorating which was evident in his home and garage. Darrell’s love of the outdoors was reflected by the hours he spent both working and relaxing outside at his acreage. Many hours were also spent sitting by the outdoor firepit with family, friends or with his dog, Baylon. A huge thank you to all staff who cared for Darrell at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital.
