James Terrance ‘Turb’ Sullivan
1949-2017
SULLIVAN, James Terrance “Turb” –
Age 67, Canso, Guysborough Co., passed away on Saturday, March 11,
2017, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in
Canso, he was a son of the late John F. and Mary Bernice (Casey)
Bond.
Terry was a member of Star of the Sea Parish. Terry worked
for many years as a Marine Maintenance Fitter at Seafreeze Foods Ltd.
in Canso until the plant closure. He then travelled to work
for Marwood Ltd. of Fredericton, NB in the wood manufacturing
industry. His last career was in the crab fishing industry working
with his brother’s-in-law, the Richardson Brothers, aboard
the “Ruff and Ready”. Turb enjoyed the
outdoors hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed hockey, especially when
his favorite team the Montreal Canadiens played. Turb had a great love
for music, playing his radio from dusk till dawn while singing
along.
Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, the former Wanda
Richardson; daughter, Leisa (Nathan) MacNeil, Tracyville, NB; son,
Neil (Melanie) Sullivan, Liverpool; sister, Theresa Stevens (Lynn
Mossman), Rose Bay; brothers, Wayne (Marie) Sullivan, Frank (Della)
Sullivan, Carl (Mary Louise) Bond, all of Canso; Graham (Jeanette)
Bond, Fox Island Main; Michael (Donnette) Bond, Lantz, 3
grandchildren. He was predeceased by his biological father, Francis
Havelock Sullivan and brother, Van Gerard Bond.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 17, in
Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m.
Saturday, March 18, from Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso
with Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Private burial at a later date.
