Elizabeth (Betty) MacQuarrie 14 novembre 1925 – 5 mars 2017

Elizabeth (nee Serbu) passed away at Pioneer Village, Regina, SK on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the age of 91 years. Betty was born November 14, 1925 at Dysart, SK to Roman (Ray) and Christina Serbu.
She was predeceased by her husband Don MacQuarrie in 1983; an infant daughter Bonnie; son Robbie, in 1965; parents; and a brother John.
Betty is survived by son Roderick Raymond MacQuerrie of White City, SK; daughter Betty Bendelin of Gotland, Sweden; five granddaughters; Jana Bendelin (Mark Simms) of Regina, Mika MacQuarrie, Gina MacQuarrie, Andrea Bendelin and Christie Caroff, all of Gotland Sweden; brother Norman of Regina; and two sisters Ellen Mairs (Dave) of Bruno, SK and Geraldine Lasher (Arden) of Kelowna, BC.
Betty was raised in Fox Hills, SK and moved to Pilot Butte, SK in the early 1940’s. There she met Donald Murdock MacQuarrie, formerly an engineer and sergeant of the 9th Canadian Field Squadron 4th Division. She married Don on August 10, 1946 in Balgonie, SK.
Betty spent most of her adult life in the Regina area, apart from several years on the island of Montserrat. Throughout her lifetime, Betty loved travelling, dancing, reading and playing cards. Above all else, she loved cooking and serving meals and snacks to family and friends.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Betty’s ashes will be scattered over Don’s at the family farm at White City.
