Born to Earl and Gertrude Robinson in Inverness QC. Muriel died peacefully at Mount Sinai Hospital (CSL) surrounded by family.
Predeceased by two loving husbands, Art Brophy and Robert Owens. Survived by her adoring Brophy boys, Rob, Jim (Gayle) and Bill (Amy); by her admiring Step-children Richard (Elizabeth), Cecily (Martin) and Steven (Leslie); by those she considered almost perfect, her grandchildren: Tommy, Alex, Cameron, Hannah and Finnegan and Step-grandchildren Alexandra (Simon), Nathaniel, Tyler and Devin. Muriel will always be the big sister to Don (Diane), Doug (Louise), Geraldine (late Clinton), Gerry (Charlotte), Wayne (deceased), Eric (late Linda), Barry (Deceased) and Marilyn (Gerry), and forever a trusted and loving aunt to numerous nieces & nephews, and caring sister-in-law to many late and very much alive Brophys and Owenses. She also leaves to mourn a wide variety of friends, former students and colleagues from down home (Inverness, QC), MacDonald College, Stoneham, New Glasgow, Blainville, Rosemère High School (amongst several schools), Le Graham (in TMR) and The Belvedere (in Lachine). Others bonded with her through the Anglican Church, not to mention those she befriended by just being herself.
A special thanks for the loving care and friendship of Abigail as well as staff at the MGH and Mount Sinai Hospitals, who have proven that humanity and compassion have not been affected by healthcare budget cuts.
Visitation Saturday, March 4th, 1:30 pm, at St. Andrew and St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 865 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval Qc. Funeral service to follow at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Montreal Shriner’s Hospital would be appreciated.
Most comfortable in front of a classroom, right at home in a crowd, happiest amongst family, Muriel will be missed by the multitude of hearts she touched along the way.
