Amy de Luna Marco
Amy who was 50 years of age, entered into eternal peace on Thursday, February 24, 2017 at the Riverview Health Centre in the presence of her loving family.
Amy was born on August 29, 1966, (the oldest child) to Jaime and Alicia de Luna. She graduated at Jose Abad Santos High School Arellano University in Pasay City, Philippines in 1983. She earned a degree of Bachelor of Science Major in Chemistry from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines in 1987. She worked as Laboratory Assistant at Lyceum of the Philippines and at Yarn Venture Resources Inc. as Quality Assurance Technician.
Amy was married to Regidor “Reggie” Marco for more than 26 yrs. She met Reggie when they were both in high school, fell in love and after more than 8 years, got married on January 5, 1991. Their marriage was blessed with 3 sons; Emmanuel, Nathaniel, and Samuel, now 22, 19 and 18 yrs old respectively. Amy and her family migrated to Canada in 2009. She had been an active volunteer at Norwest Community Center in Winnipeg. She was employed in various companies and received trainings (skills, technical and advocacy) here in Canada where she gained skills , confidence and courage to lead and serve the people around her. Amy was strong in faith and spirit, joyful, hardworking, intelligent and loving woman and mother. She was well known by her relatives, classmates, co-workers, colleagues and friends as a very kind and gentle soul; she had a loving and generous heart, and was always caring and giving to others. Her passion was her family.
Amy is predeceased by her parents Jaime Sr. and Alicia; grandpa Esteban de Luna; and grandparents- Predigno and Basilia Atole. Amy is survived by her husband Reggie; her sons Emmanuel, Nathaniel and Samuel; and her siblings Rosario (Chat), Jaime Juan Jr. and Jaime Juan III (John-John), whose loving memories are forever in their hearts.
Her loving memories will be cherished by her caring uncles and aunties ; Tessie Tena, Anita and Romeo Lagadi, Rodrigo and Helen de Luna, Romeo and Loyda de Luna, Linda Gagnon and Dolores and Vincencio Mancini; and her adorable grandma Maria de Luna; and all her cousins. Also to cherish her memories are her aunties from New York (Frennie), Indiana (Eden), and Dallas, Texas (Mher and Vicky) of the United States and relatives, cousins and friends in the Philippines.
The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and medical staff of HSC and Riverview Health Centre for their caring support for Amy and the family.
Viewing/Lamay will be held on March 4, Saturday from 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight at the Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Winnipeg, MB.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on March 6, Monday at 10:00 am at St. Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, 836 Arlington Street, Winnipeg, MB.
Amy’s remain will be brought back to her country of birth, the Philippines. Prayers and vigil will be at 180 Ascano Street Malibay, Pasay City. Entombment will follow in Heritage Park at Bayani Road, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, Metro Manila, Philippines.
