James Maurice ‘Jimmy’ Pollard
1941-2017
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of James
“Jimmy” Maurice Pollard, age 76. Jimmy passed away
in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 21,
2017.
Jimmy was born January 1, 1941, to the late John Wesley
Pollard and Anna Geneva Pollard (Ryan) in Antigonish. He was
originally from Port Hawkesbury, but moved to Ontario where he joined
the Canadian Armed Forces. Jimmy was a quiet and kind soul and will be
greatly missed.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Mary Ellen Mombourquette
(Neil); granddaughters, Shaylin and Sarah; brothers, Robert Pollard
(Judy) and Brian Pollard; sisters, Joan Hurlburt and Marion Scott, as
well many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was
predeceased by his mother and father, Anna and John Pollard; sister,
Brenda Pollard; brothers, Greg and Lawrence Pollard.
A special thank you goes out to all the nurses and staff at
the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home, R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, and the
Shannex-Vimmy Court Nursing Home for the great care Jimmy
received.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Dennis Haverstock
Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury and from where the funeral service will
be held 10 a.m. Monday with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial
at a later date. Donations can be made to charity of choice. Words of
