Julia Hunsley – 2017

It is with deep sadness that the family of Julia May Hunsley age 96, of Amherst announce her passing on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Northumberland Hall, Amherst, NS.
Born in Midgic, NB she was a daughter of the late William and Kate (Fillmore) Patterson.
In her younger years Julia worked for Maritime Pant Factory, Amherst during World War II. She later was employed in the office at Margolians Department Store. Julia was a Life Member and Past Chief of the Pythian Sisters Elizabeth Temple and was Past Regent of the N.O.M.A.D.S. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Amherst as well as the Mother’s Association.
She is survived by two daughters Barbara (Arthur) Chapman of Dartmouth and Kathryn (David) Smith of Amherst, four grandchildren Stacey and Scott Chapman (Jessica) both of Dartmouth, Shawn Smith of Lower Sackville, NS and Kelsey Smith (Jason) of Athol, NS, one great grandson Kyle Chapman, one sister Gertrude Ormandy of Lethbridge, AB, one brother Ellsworth of Sackville, NB and many nieces and nephews.
Julia was predeceased by her husband Weldon, son Michael Weldon, two sisters Eleanor Atkinson and Sarah Ward and four brothers William, Charles, Carl and Douglas.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS (902-667-9906)
