Audrey “Audie” Illsley Lyttle
September 22 1926 – February 9 2017
Audrey Illsley “Audie” Lyttle, age 90 of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, with her loving family by her side.
Born on September 22, 1926, in Newport Station, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Earle and Daisy Belle (Rhodenizer) Fletcher.
Audie lived her entire married life in Ellershouse, where she was involved in various Community Groups. A member of St. Louise Union Church, Ellershouse, she had sang in the choir for many years.
Audie’s greatest lifetime achievement was that with her husband of 69 years, Lloyd Lyttle. They spent their life dancing as many nights as they could and showed the rest of the world how it was done.
A professional house wife, mother, and grandmother, nobody looked after their family better than Audie. Home cooked suppers served each and every night at 5 pm sharp, clothes washed and ironed, and the house as neat as could be. Audie logged many hours and long days at her work while keeping her two most proud son’s on the right track.
Her proudest moments were the birth of her two wonderful grandson’s Matthew and Brandon. As a grandmother she cared for them like no other. She looked after, protected and loved them as a very proud grandmother.
Audie will be sadly missed by her sons, Darrell (Beverly) Lyttle, McKay Section; Stephen (Charmaine) Lyttle, Ellershouse; beloved grandsons, Matthew and Brandon Lyttle; brother, Elroy Fletcher, Amherst; sisters, Daisy Belle Taylor, Hillsborough, NB; Georgie (Jack) Walsh, Berwick; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and her husband Lloyd (2015); she was predeceased by her sisters, Esther Fownes, Marjorie LeBlanc, and Muriel Boyd; brothers, Earle and Laurie.
There will be no visitation by request.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel, (902-798-2232), 194 King St., P.0.Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0, with Rev. Krista Anderson officiating, followed by a reception at the Ellershouse Community Hall. A private family interment will be held at the Oakhill Cemetery, Ellershouse.
