The death of Robert Thompson, age 88 of Diamond Crest Seniors, Porters Lane, Westville occurred on Friday, February 10, 2017 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, he was a son of the late Albert and Carrie (Ross) Thompson, Highfield, Westville. In his earlier years, Robert hauled coal and light trucking.
Robert is survived by sisters, Annie May Halliday, Ridgeway, Ont.; and Alice MacKenzie, Mill Brook, Pictou County; sister-in-law Marge Thompson, Kingston, Ont. as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, George and Harold in infancy; Leonard (Alma); Arthur (Vivian); Ross (Annie); Warren; sister Catherine Stewart (Wesley); brothers-in-law William Halliday and Ian MacKenzie.
Robert is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Sunday from 6-8 pm , His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Monday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made to St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Westville.
