COOPER, Wayne Kenneth – Lower Sackville, NS – Age 68, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family, in the VG, Halifax after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, NS, Wayne was the son of John and Irene Cooper. He dispatched for Ace Y/Yellow cab for over 40 years and drove taxi for many years as well. He was a huge Elvis Presley fan and loved watching wrestling. Wayne is survived by his brother John, Halifax, NS; sister Linda, Halifax, NS; sister Darlene, Halifax, NS; his wife Cheryl of 23 years, his children, Wayne (Heather) Ottawa, ON; Cindy (Greg) Moncton, NB; Nancy (Jason) Eastern Passage, NS; Angie (Garth) Anna, TX; Nicolas, Lower Sackville, NS; his step-daughter Crystal (Ryan) Lower Sackville, NS; his grandchildren Adam, Nicole, Jessica, Emilee, Mariah, Kennedy, Liam and Jacob, his great grandchildren Harlow and Amelia as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, and his brother George. We would like to give special thanks to all of the 8A staff at the VG, the VON nurses, Northwood Homecare and the Palliative care team for their exceptional care and support before and during this difficult time. Wayne was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Visitation and the funeral service will take place on Friday, February 10th at Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Lower Sackville. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-7 PM with the funeral immediately following at 7 PM. Interment will be held at Oakridge Memorial Gardens at a later date.
