William “Bill” Hollis Allen
1944-2017
Peacefully at his residence on February 3, 2017, William
“Bill” Hollis Allen, husband of Barbara E. (Cooke) Allen of
Utopia NB. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on April 2, 1944, he was the son
of the late Anderson and Esther (Wilcox) Allen. A loving husband,
father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, in addition to his
wife, Barbara, he is survived by two daughters: Pamela (Jonathan)
Mursic of Bowmanville ON and Penny (Brian) Ford of Battle Ground WA;
six grandchildren: Zachary, Joshua, Jacob, Mackenzie, Carly and
Lauren; one great-granddaughter: Audrey; two sisters: Jane Allen of
Blacks Harbour NB and Nellie Allen of Halifax NS; mother-in-law:
Gladys Cooke of St. Stephen NB; his faithful canine companion: Brandi;
several aunts, uncles and cousins. Besides his parents, Bill was
predeceased by his father-in-law: Chester Cooke.
Working as a self employed fisherman for most of his career, Bill
loved being on the water. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting
and fishing and truly enjoyed just being out in nature. He will be
sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26
Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the funeral home on Sunday
from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will take place on Monday at 2:00 pm
from the Seventh Day Adventist Church, St. George NB with Rev. Victor
Chant officiating. The interment will be held at the St. George Rural
Cemetery in the Spring. In Bill’s memory, donations to the Charlotte
County SPCA would be greatly appreciated by the family.
