Connie Deblette – 2017

We regret to announce the death of Connie Deblette on February 1, 2017 at the age of 67 years. Connie was a celebrated artist in the area and enjoyed working with many mediums; she was talented in woodworking and wood burning, as well as painting, quilting, sewing, and photography. She had a wonderful partnership with her husband, André, and they could often be found at the Farmer’s Market during the summer months. Connie had the best laugh in the world and loved her home overlooking the Kapuskasing River. She also loved nature, and her pets: she was an active member with Animal Rescue of Kapuskasing. She was a kind, thoughtful person who enjoyed taking care of children and others, and she never asked for anything in return.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband, André; her children: Cheryl Deblette (Paul Dolan) of Wakefield, QC, and Daina Deblette of Salt Spring Island, BC; her granddaughter: Claire Dolan; her sister: June Knowles (Michael); her sister-in-law: Elfrieda Millette; her niece: Paula Knowles (Etienne Lemay); her nephew: Warren Knowles (Sue Kennedy); as well as three great-nieces: Mila Knowles-Lemay, Hayley Knowles, and Sara Knowles; and one great-nephew: Patrick Knowles. She was predeceased by her parents: Lauri and Sylvia Lehtisaari; her mother-in-law: Jeanne Deblette; one brother-in-law: Claude Deblette; and one great-nephew: Jared Knowles.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 7th at St. Mark’s Anglican at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Valerie Isaac officiating. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Animal Rescue of Kapuskasing or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. ©
