SAINT-LOUIS-DE-KENT, NB – Gerald “Gerry”
Richard 78, of Saint-Louis-de-Kent passed away peacefully at Foyer
Bois Joli, Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Monday, January 30, 2017.
Born in St. Ignace, he was the son of the late François
Richard and late Yvonne Hachey. Before retiring, Gerry was
employed as a correctional officer after serving 10 years in the Air
Force. He attended St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic
Church.
Gerry will be sadly missed by his wife, Irma (Babineau)
Richard of St. Louis; two daughters, Nadia Richard (Emile Daigle) of
St. Antoine, Carol Richard (Jeff Stewart) of St. Louis; two sons,
Denis (Pauline) of Eastern Passage, NS, Marc (Brenda) of North Bay,
ON; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Steven, Samuel, Collin, Nicholas,
Christian, Jessica, Josée, Mélanie and two great
grandchildren, Owen and Carter.
He is also survived by four sisters, Bertha Arseneau (Ulysse)
of Rogersville, Beatrice Lanteigne (Victor) of Rogersville, Jeannita
Goguen (Maurice) of Fall River, NS, Claudette Richard-Ubiera (Plinio)
of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic; three brothers, Jean-Paul
(Lorraine) of Fort Myers, FL, Raymond (Debbie) of South Tetagouche,
Adelard (Annette) of Dartmouth East, NS and many nieces and
nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one sister,
Lorette LeBlanc and one brother, Germain.
Visitation will be held at Thompson Memorial Home,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent on Sunday from 2–4 and 7-9 pm, Monday
from 2:00 pm until time of the funeral. A Funeral Mass will
be held on Monday, February 6, 2017 at 4:00 pm, St. Louis des
Français Roman Catholic Church,
Saint-Louis-de-Kent. Donations in Gerry’s memory
may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are in care of Thompson’s Funeral Home,
Richibucto (523-4252).
