Georgia Rose Tower
1922-2017
Georgia Rose Tower, 94, of Hillsborough, passed away at her
residence on January 26th, 2017.
Georgia was born in Hillsborough on September 29th, 1922,
the daughter of the late William and Evangeline (Milton)
O’Connor.
Georgia spent time working at Eaton’s, the Post Office in
Hillsborough, and she made baked goods for the lunch counter at the
Hillsborough Pharmacy. Georgia was a member of the Hillsborough
Baptist Church. She belonged to the Senior’s Church Group and looked
forward to their meetings and outings. She was very kind and generous,
and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Most nights
she could be found down in the Common Room at her residence playing a
game of cards and having some laughs. Most of all Georgia loved her
family. She looked forward to their visits and she was very proud to
have met the newest addition, a great-granddaughter, who was named
after her. She will be remembered for her caring ways.
“What we keep in memory is ours
forever”.
She will be deeply missed by her 3 daughters, Gwen Crossman
of Riverview, Sandra Parker (Edward) of Weldon, Gail Woodworth
(Donald) of Riverview; her 10 precious grandchildren and 19 cherished
great-grandchildren; brother Lorenzo “Joe” O’Connor of
Riverview; son-in-law Hilyard Rossiter of Alma. She will also be
missed by several nieces and nephews and her extended family and
friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her beloved
husband, Vernon “Bun”; daughter, Vivian Rossiter; sisters,
Mary, Edna, Marie, Della, Phyllis, and Effie; brothers, Robert, Doyle,
Phillip, King, and Curtis.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home,
there will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at the
Albert County Funeral Home on Sunday, January 29th, 2017 at 2:00pm
with Rev. Dean MacDonald officiating. The family will be meeting with
relatives and friends for further sharing of memories and refreshments
following the service. Internment will be at the Grey’s Island
Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB at a later date.
Donations to the Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Department or
local charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by
the family.
