Violet was born in Bawlf, Alberta to Robert and Laura Hoefling (nee: Gunderson). Married in 1936 to Vernon Throndson. Survived by her four children, Loretta Throndson, Janice (Vern) Carlson, Larry (Fran) Throndson, Brenda (Steve) Miller; grandchildren, Valerie (David), Richard (Trisha), Cheryl (Dan), Mark (Linda), Jeffrey (Kim), Lauren (Will), Matthew; great grandchildren, Brett, Caitlin. Rebecca, Victoria, Joshua, Samuel. Marissa, Jenna. Mason, Annika. Predeceased by her parents, Robert & Laura as well as six brothers and sisters.
In her 100 plus years she saw an enormous amount of change, from horse and buggy days to self driving cars. The oldest of seven, she helped raise her siblings. She and Vernon raised their family in Armena, they moved to Wetaskiwin in 1955 and she remained on the farm until 1996 when she moved to Luther Manor. For the past two years she has been at Wetaskiwin Meadows where the care she received was exemplary.
Memorial Service: Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church 4218 56 Avenue, Wetaskiwin.
