Ried W.R. Nelson – 2017

RIED W.R. NELSON
Ried, late of Regina, SK passed away unexpectedly in his home on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the age of 73 years. Predeceased by his father Nels Nelson, Ried is survived by his wife Lorraine; daughter Teresa (Paul) Royal; grandchildren, William and Sarah Royal; mother Barbara Nelson; siblings, Sharon (Bob) Brade, Stu Nelson (Carole Arden), Shelley (Foster) Monson, Sheean (Julie) Nelson, Lori Nelson, Stacy Nelson (Laura Alexander), and Claude-dene (John) Demchenko; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Ried grew up in Moose Jaw and worked for the CPR, while receiving his Admin/Merchandizing Certificate at STI. Upon graduating from STI, his first job was an Assistant Manager of Zellers, in Moose Jaw, Calgary, and Regina. Reid’s next position was a Manager for 10 departments at the Hudson Bay Company, Regina. He then went into business and was a co-owner of Kamera Korner, Regina. When the business closed, at 50 years of age, Ried attended the U of R and graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Human Justice. Due to cutbacks in that discipline, he obtained a job with Carlton Cards and worked there until retiring. Ried loved to travel. Every vacation day he had, he went somewhere, his most favorite place being Glacier National Park MT (45 times in 49 years) and of course, visiting with family in the US and spending winters in Palm Springs, CA. To honor Ried’s wishes, there will be no Memorial Service. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, donations may be made to your favorite charity.
