Charlotte Yorke – 2017

Obituary for Charlotte Yorke
YORKE, Charlotte Marie (February 10, 1935 – January 15, 2017): Charlotte Yorke, age 81 years, longtime resident of the Rossburn, Manitoba area, passed away peacefully and is now in the arms of the Creator. Artist, mentor, fighter, friend. These are just a few words that describe Charlotte. Whether she was creating beautiful pieces of art, delivering mountains of mail, or roller skating with her grandkids, she greatly enjoyed life and all the challenges that it threw at her. Surviving residential school with her grace, dignity, and sense of humour intact, she always remembered the good times over the bad, and this inspired a sense of good and peace in everyone she knew. Her gift of joy, her smiles, and her shy little laugh will never be forgotten. Charlotte is survived by her sweetheart and loving husband Keith Yorke, son Thomas (Anne) of Morley, Alberta; daughters Roseanne (William) of Petawawa, Ontario; and Jennifer (Kevin) of Waywayseecappo, Manitoba. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas, Nicolas, Elysia, Zakerry, Melissa, Jacob, Jorja and Olivia, and great-grandchildren Willow, Siya and Cody; all of whom brought her great joy in her later years. A celebration of Charlotte’s life will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Charlotte may be made to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation for the Intensive Care Unit, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba R7A 2B3, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.
